The benefits of exercise have been talked about for ages. They enhance both our physical and mental health. They also contribute to factors like anti ageing, and curing skin diseases. Here we shall discuss the benefits of mental exercises. The brain needs exercise in order to fight ageing, function properly and keep our thinking positive. Several studies about mental exercises have yielded that there is a vast difference in mental health, intelligence quotient, grasping power and balanced mood. The most interesting fact is that the difference is found to be in those persons whose ages are above 60 years.
The mental exercises begin an increased flow of blood in the brain. The brain requires a large amount of oxygen and glucose as a fuel in order to keep the rest of the organs of the body to function properly. Due to old age the blood flow in the brain decreases. These exercises help the brain to gain more blood flow and keep the rest of the body active. Mental exercises also help the body to perform the chemical reactions happening in the body properly. It also helps in combating ageing. It has a positive impact on the nerve cells and also the rest of the cells present in the body. So it makes the body active even in old age. It also helps the body to reduce the risk of stroke and clotting which can lead to death. So it is also good for the circulatory system of our body. So, doing mental exercises results in anti aging.
